Halloween
I am retro-posting! Last Halloween, we really wanted to dress up, but could not think of what to do. Cathy used her creativity to come up with these costumes. We thought that they were super hip and almost wore them all week long!

The "Gatherers"
We have been officially named "The Gatherers." It all started with our garden. The first thing that came up was our zucchini, and it grew, and grew, and grew. By the time we got sick of the zucchini, nothing else really came up. Our big hope was the tomatoes. However, they never really came to fruition. Our parents were extremely nice enough to give us some of their harvest. So the bottling began. We also went and bought some fruit, and found out that a bushel of peaches goes a l-o-o-o-ng way. Cathy was lucky in buying one of the last half bushels of peaches in the valley. We broke out our dehydrator and dried a bit of our extra peaches and pears. Joseph was disappointed that Cathy never let him bottle any beans, but the crop only yielded maybe enough for 2 pints. Just when we thought that we were done, Cathy went to the Red Ribbon run and won a box of bannanas and a box of apples. We spent the day trying to dry them, make pies, and applesauce. To top it off, on our way to the store we saw a barbeque on the tree lawn (the parking strip). We both thought of Julie and Aaron and their interesting adventures with tree lawn. Well, the embarrasing part was that we really wanted a barbeque. We said, "If they put a sign on it, then we will think about taking it." Well, sure enough when we got home the "free" sign was on it. Joseph walked over and dragged it home. We figure that if it doesn't work then we will put it on our neighbors tree lawn. So whether we like it or not, it is just in our nature, we are "The Gatherers."

New Beginnings
Well, I never thought that I would ever start a blog. Mainly because I don't really understand it. Lydia suggested that we do this so that it feels like we are closer. So, this is our new beginning, and hopefully, it will catch on and we can keep in better touch from freezing Cache Valley.
