We left for Canada May 14th at 5:00 AM. Nine hours later we made it to Glacier, it was the day before they were opening, and so we were able to drive portions with no one else around. It felt like a ghost town.
We were so excited to see this sheep. We saw a sign warning us about the sheep, but didn't think we would see one. We stopped on the side of the road and took this picture. A park ranger drove passed us while we did it, and gave us a funny look. We soon found out why...
...The road curved around, and on the other side, these sheep were scattered everywhere. This picture doesn't do it justice because there were at least 40 sheep. It was quite funny.
Below is elk that we saw, though the picture isn't that great.
If you look closely, you can see a deer in the trees. When we saw the deer, we stopped and watched it for a bit. Then it took off parallel to the road. We were able to follow along side it for sometime. It was really cool.
We then left Glacier, but before we got to the border, Cathy realized that she had changed her name on her license, but not on her passport. We were worried what that would mean at the border. Sure enough, we were stopped and asked to go in. It was an intimidating experience for Joseph, but Cathy remained calm and even carried on conversations that probably shouldn't be talked about at the border like the black market, smuggling, and drugs. Luckily, we made it through unscathed.
That night, we stayed in Cardston. There are three hotels in Cardston. We picked the one that didn't look the greatest, but wasn't the worst either (on the outside at least). It also ended up being the cheapest. We found out why when we walked into the room. We should have taken a picture, but forgot. We survived however.
